The goal of this project was to design and build a studio space and logo for the applied art students in the Education for Employment program at Kalamazoo Central High School. The space is meant to operate as a printmaking studio for high school students who are preparing through applied studies for creative careers. The aim behind the project was to create a space where students could feel a sense of belonging while also getting a chance to let their creative inclinations guide their educational experience. Having a space that they can control gives students a chance to be truly expressive without constraints, and the outcome is absolutely beautiful. This project was a donation through my involvement in the advisory committee for the EFE class.
