This project is a study of texture and material through a poster design for Cardi B, a contemporary hip-hop artist. The inspirations for the project was graphic designer, David Carson’s treatment of texture and grunge typography. In designing this piece, I used an observational drawing method called general-to-specific, where the artist considers the details in relationship to the composition as a whole. The poster is 18”x24” and digitally printed to accommodate the colors in the work.
